Ebay buyers help

Hello & Good Morning.
I need a help from ebay buyers.
I bought a Digital camera (Nikon Coolpix 8800) today in ebay from a German seller, for shipping he gives two options:
1. Payment on Delivery
2. DHL shipping

so, I have a doubt, if I get it through post, will SL Government charge a TAX? if yes, How much will they charge for Digital Camera?

if DHL they will definitely charge tax! when posting tell the seller to mention lower price on the parcel like $12 and best way is import without retail box and pack it lite! then most of the times you wont be charged!

I tell one of my relation who lives in Germany to pick up the item locally by visiting the seller and ask him to post the item to me as a gift from him. will it work?

Do it if you can! But doesnt need to worry talk with your seller negotiate directly with him. Most of the times seller will agree with you because you are the buyer! tell him to pack it without box and lite. And mention lower price and send it to you! Prices higher than $30 as i know will be charged tax!

and there's one more problem, most of the German sellers doesn't accept Paypal, so, they mostly require local pickup or bank transfer.
Bank Transfer is not a safe method unlike paypal. So, I am left with Local Pickup which will be good choice. isn't it?

i think you should Use DHL bcose its not like the cost but its really safer.....

Tell your seller to send it as a Gift Item. and put value around $20-30.
