Your Sarath Sir is not going to join hands with the LTTE
Currently mahinda controls the country with an iron rule

IF SF comes to power
Call it military or not
He's going to try establish a rule of his own. he will want his people at higher positions And he won't give up the power of the executive presidency without wanting a position with similar power.
So most optimistic scenario is SF will change the name of executive presidency retainning the power.

Who can impeach an executive presidency may I ask
A parliament that does not meet??
All SF has to do is postphone the date indefinitely.

Ranil Mangala ,Jvp and possibly SLFP will oppose this fiercely and chaos will rule.
SF most probably will send several party leaders to prison. Ban several parties.
Those buggers in return might ask India to intervene

At any rate SF will have to have to bring the military to colombo to suppress riots
Do you have any idea who will benefit from such a scenario than SF

The LTTE
And all the sacrifices those soldiers made will be in vain
we need to develop the north quick and demonstrate the tamils that we give a better future than the LTTE.
till we do that there is always the risk of LTTE coming back

Look,
the coalition SF represents has no clear agreement or indication of WHO WILL HOLD THE REAL POWER.
Power does not disappear my friend somebody gets it. if there is no indication of who should get it. Parties will fight fiercely.

Now don't tell me that parliament will hold that power:rofl:
Since the UNP will in such a scenario get the majority of the parliament (and subsequently the power). JVP will opposes it dearly. And what happens to Mangala aa??? :oo:
he will ask for a special position

But my main point is that all these buggers will be quarrling about a power SF will be holding by then. Why would SF give that up Why should he anyway??

Mr "I sooo believe in SF" tell me an answer to this

you see a big red ruby (veryyy big parampara gaaanakata athi) floating in the river
(just assume)
Your friend suggests that you call a person who can swim and get that ruby and you will share the wealth in a reasonable way(You haven't agreed who gets what share ok. And none of you want only one third everyone is thinking of getting the ruby for himself)
Ok
you call the swimmer
The swimmer comes risks his life and gets the ruby.

Now will the swimmer swim towards you and divide the wealth into 3 parts and share or is he most likely to swim to the other side and have the ruby for him self. :P

You my friend is gullible. you assume that the swimmer will come back.
ok say he comes back

now what is going to happen
will he divide it equally or will he want a bigger share.
will any of you give him a bigger share??
No,
You will fight

And what I'm telling you is that some 17 year old kudda(drug addict) standing nearby is going to steal your hard earned mecedece benz parked nearby with your supermodel wife inside. while you are fighting. And you won't care a bit because if you are blinded by the ruby.

Similarly SF is not going to give the north to the dead LTTE
the LTTE will be reborn and take it from him while he's fighting with others to retain the ruby (executive presidency). or rather running with the ruby on the other side of the river :P

Think practically
Mahinda maybe stealing but its a sunk cost
comes with the presidency.

But we need a strong ruler to retain what our men have died for.
And SF won't be one trust me he can be harsh but not strong in politics
All the parties other than the SLFP are in disarray in this moment why??
did mahinda ban political parties ??
he used cunningness to break up everybody else and offered goodies to lure the supposed capable people in each party.

look at Bandula Gunawadena
he was the UNP's solution to hyperinflation
Mahinda took him and gave him the correct position too
Would ranil do that ever??

Sf, look at SF who put SF in the correct position.

Wimal Weerawansa
Thondaman

Mahinda is capable and he does the job mostly without the powers of excecutive presidency. SF would have to use those if he is do anything in the first place.

I ask you have Mahinda banned any political party so far? What abusive orders has he issued? He even allowed SF to run for presidency.Would Ranil,JVP do that??.

Mahinda is just using the normal political power to do everything. Just like ranil as prime minister was stronger than chandrika the executive president.

I would rather vote for a capable politician who has shown results than some unholy self contradictory alliance solely united by the lust for power.

Gen. Fonseka agrees to TNA demands

http://srilankawatch.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=548&Itemid=1

R. Sambandhan MP, Mavai Senathirajah MP and Suresh Premachandran MP all from the TNA had met the leader of opposition Ranil Wickramasinghe and the common opposition candidate General Fonseka and had discussed the problems Tamil community are facing and on the solution to the ethnic problem last night (22nd).
The TNA members have also had an hour long discussion with SLMC leader Party leader Rauf Hakeem about the problems that Tamil and Muslim community have.

Sri Lanka Watch learns from sources close to UNF that at the end of the meeting common candidate Gen. Sarath Fonseka has agreed to most of the demands tabled by the Tamil National Alliance, including the removal of all high security zones on the north and east, reduce the number of defence camps in the north and east, release over 12,000 Tiger suspects held in detention under a common amnesty etc. etc.
The following were the demands of the TNA.
1. Release 12,000 Tiger suspects held in detention under a common amnesty.
2. Remove all high security zones in the northeast.
3. Reduce the number of army camps in the north and east.
4. Find a political solution to the ethnic crisis.
5. Resettle the displaced quickly.
6. Provide them with all necessary facilities.
7. Construct houses they need.
8. End all planned resettlement that is being done in the east.
Prior to the meeting with Fonseka, Sambantha had called for a meeting of all 22 members, but only 12 members showed up for the meeting. According to MP Ariyanethiran, the TNA is yet to meet President Rajapakse. The TNA parliamentarians will be meeting again among themselves on the 4th of Jan. 2010.

UN calls for explanation on Fonseka’s war crimes charges against Gota, Shavendra

http://www.island.lk/2009/12/22/news1.html

The United Nations has, following allegations made by General (Retd) Sarath Fonseka of war crimes committed by Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Major General Shavindra de Silva, called for an explanation from Sri Lanka on the death of leading LTTE cadres during the end stages of Eelam war IV in May this year.

The UN Special Rapporteur on Extra-judicial, Summary or Arbitrary Executions, Phillip Alston, has asked the government to provide explanations with regard to the circumstances leading to the deaths of three senior LTTE cadres and their families during the final stages of military operations against the LTTE.

The demand for the explanations follows the recent statement made by Gen (Rtd) Sarath Fonseka, an opposition candidate at the forthcoming Presidential election, alleging that such killings had taken place, during an interview reported by The Sunday Leader of December 13, 2009.

A letter, by the UN Special Rapporteur Alston, addressed to Mrs. Kshenuka Senewiratna, the Permanent representative of Sri Lanka at the UN Office in Geneva, states:

"These allegations were made by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army at the time of the events and subsequent Chief of Defence Staff (now retired) General Gardihewa Sarath Chandralal Fonseka, in an interview to the newspaper The Sunday Leader. The accounts of journalists embedded with the SLA 58th Brigade confirm some of the alleged circumstances of the death of Messers Nadeshan, Pulidevan and Ramesh and their families".

The letter also said: "On 17 May 2009, the day before your Excellency’s Government announced that its forces had completely defeated the LTTE, Messers Nadeshan, Pulidevan and Ramesh were trapped with other senior cadres of the LTTE in a small area north of Vellamullivaikkal. Through intermediaries that sought to establish contact with your Excellency’s Government to inquire how they could surrender to the Sri Lanka Army (SLA). The reply, coming from the Secretary of Defence in your Excellency’s Government and from a Member of Parliament who is at the same time a senior advisor to the President, and conveyed through the intermediaries, was that they should walk towards the positions of the SLA in a way that made their intentions clear and holding a white cloth. The Commander of the SLA 58th Brigade, the unit on the front line with the last LTTE position, however, received a telephone call from the Secretary of Defence instructing him to order his forces to shoot those surrendering. When Messers Nadeshan, Pulidevan, and Ramesh walked towards the SLA positions carrying white cloths in the first hours of 18 May 2009, soldiers opened fire on them and killed them. An unspecified number of family members of the three men were killed as well."

"It is my responsibility under the mandate provided to me by the Human Rights Council to seek to clarify all cases brought to my attention. Since I am expected to report on the death of Messers Nadeshan, Pulidevan and Ramesh, as well as of the members of their families, I would be grateful for the cooperation and observations of your Excellency’s Government in particular in relation to the following questions.

1. Are the allegations summarized above accurate? If not so, please share the information and documents proving their inaccuracy.

2. What information does your Excellency’s Government have on the family members of Messers Nadeshan, Pulidevan and Ramesh allegedly killed on 18 May 2009?

3. Please refer to the results of any military, police, judiciary or other inquiry or investigation carried out in relation to the allegations summarized above. "

The Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the UN, Geneva had sent the letter to Prof Rajiva Wijesinha, Secretary Ministry of Disaster Management and Human Rights and copied to Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Secretary Defence, Mohan Peiris PC, Attorney General, Romesh Jaysainghe Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Thank you Sarath sir, we appreciate your hard work!

Yes fully agreed, all these war ciminals must be brought to book & punished. Specially a goat who is behind the abduction of innocent tamils for millions of ransom money. ( they may even be related to you )
Mr. you also be careful of white vans. And don't critisize the royal family if you care for your life.

Sri Lanka can never be divided

No matter who comes to power Sri Lanka Can never be divided. TNA is having wishfull thinking. The Tamil children who are in europe and rest of the world are not intersted in Sri Lanka. Because their mother tongue is now english and other languages. They are not comming back to poor sri lanka. They are even not interested in Sri Lanka. Tamil Ealam is a lost cause. They are going to get what they sowed. They sowed seeds of hatered.

I would trust the singhalese than a tamil .
