As already reported here at Cinema Blend yesterday, rap star Eminem was rushed to the hospital because of complications from pneumonia a few weeks ago, according to MTV.com.

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything from the once infamous rapper. His last known release was The Re-Up, Shady Records’ official mixtape, which was put out in December 2006. This past September, Em phoned Angie Martinez’s afternoon show on New York’s Hot 97 while she was interviewing 50 Cent. Em called in support of his friend. According to MTV, when asked about his own projects, Em said he was “in limbo” but also said he is always working in the studio. He told Martinez, however, he wasn’t sure if or when he would be releasing a new LP, though he seemed excited about the prospect of releasing music from the artists on Shady Records.

“It feels good right now, the energy of the label,” he said. “For awhile, I don’t wanna go back to the negative stuff… Going through some personal things, coming out of those personal things, it feels good.”

It seems Eminem vented about everything he held in his whole life via his first four albums, so now there’s not much left to do but manage his label. Most recently, Em was interviewed live New Year’s Eve on Sirius radio by Cipher sounds on a radio show called “Behind the Boards.” He was lighthearted, cracking jokes and talking about his album catalog. Other than 50 Cent, the only Shady Records release last year was by new artist Cashis. D12 members have gone solo since 2004’s D12 world, as evidenced by Bizarre’s October release, Blue Cheese and Coney Island. There has been speculation of a new D12 project, as well as a new solo album for Eminem himself entitled King Mathers, which would be his fifth studio album release and his first since 2004’s Encore. There is no official statement from Shady Records about such releases, but in a recent interview done by LiveDaily.com, Bizarre said a new D12 album is almost done.

“D12, we are currently in the studio working on our third album, our junior album,” he said. “We're about halfway finished. We should probably be finished the first of next year. It'll probably be in stores in April. There's talk of a tour, but it's just talk.”
