explorer.exe :( plzzz help guys

machnz la i have vista ultimate...wen i go to a folder with lots of videos the explorer.exe crashes..first antr thing cums rundlll or sumtn den explorer crashes...i cant go to this folder nw....please guys tell me wat to do for this?????

hmm .. seems like u have installed uncompatible codecs

unstall all codecs & divx versions u have installed & install the latest version of K-Lite codec pack ..

same thing hapnnd to me sm time ago bt da OS ws XP..
most probably da prob cn be with 1 or 2 video files..
as i cn rmmbr prob occures when generating da thumbnail view.. ( i dnt knw da reasn)

if so, search by date n try removing sm newly added files frm dat folder

Hi,

The reason why its happening because the number of videos is large and explorer is not able to handle it.
There might be multiple reasons behind it like. Low system Ram or could be multiple applications or might be view is damaged.

Can you please tell me which Anti virus do you use?

Fix:-

In order to fix it you search the video files and move half of them into a different folder.

It seems like view is also damaged. Try changing the view of the folder to list.

It should fix it

Anika seems like he already have VLC player..no need of codecs if playing avi and mkv files ..rite?.matath oya wage error ekak awa XP SP 2 waladi..net download karapu video files nisa thamai wune..man nan hithanne video file ekaka trojan ekak hari..mokak hari wennathi..man kale format karala daapu ekai...scan karala balapan latest updates aran..

the same exact thing happened to me in 2006 when Vista was released ..
i installed an older version of Divx & it started to give the same error .
replaced it with never version & worked for me .. try it ..
can't be 100% sure though

I had the Same Issue
Alll i did was
Move the Files in to a Different Folder and Remove all of my Codecs and Started Using KMPLAYER . .Cuz it has Built in Codecs . . It Worked. ..

yes machn now its ok..i downloaded the latest k lite frm the link u gave..now no problem...mst b glit in vista...there r loats of thing lyk diz in vista..lyk in COD4 to play the multiplyer have 2 fix a headset..otrwise it wnt wrk..

glad it worked .. always try to use the latest versions of softwares with vista & win 7 ..

I dont know about vista. but in XP it is a bug of explorer.exe. it stops responding when you open a folder which includes uncompleted AVIs or when you click a uncompleted or large AVI file.
