This has been announced by the Department of Information.On information received that a bomb had been planted in and about the Temple of the Tooth all devotees assembled for the tooth exposition were removed from the area. Our reporter in Kandy said all exit and entry points to the Temple of the Tooth were closed and devotees were not allowed to enter the Temple of the Tooth. People were asked through Public address system to leave the High Security Zone. Security sections have taken measures to clear the HSZ from devotees.According to our reporter in Kandy an electronic circuit carried by a child had activated the security alarm system and the sensors of security sections had received strange signals which had made the security sections remove people from the area. Security sections have blocked all signals of mobile phones and had carried out a search operation.However, later it was decided to terminate the exposition of the tooth relic on instructions from the Maha Nayake.
