Facebook Dislodges MySpace As Leading Social Networking Web Site San Francisco, L.A. (AHN) - Facebook has become the world's most popular social networking Internet Web site after it dislodged the popular MySpace, an industry tracker reported Wednesday.
According to comScore, Facebook was visited by more than 132 million surfers in June and only about 117.5 million visited MySpace the same month.
ComScore vice president Jack Flanagan said Facebook's site, which has other languages as well as English, gives international users leverage and captures local markets.
However, the Illinois Republican Rep. Mark Steven Kirk is considering a bill to ban children from using Facebook and other social networking site without parent's permission. Public facilities in other states would like to prohibit children from visiting network sites using their computers.
