Firefox crosses 500 million download mark

Mozilla congratulated itself on attaining 500 million downloads of the Firefox Web browser.

It's an arbitrary but interesting milestone for the open-source Web browser, whose development is overseen by Mozilla but that's also developed and extended by a large number of outside programmers. In September 2007, Firefox crossed the 400 million download mark, indicating an average rate a bit shy of 20 million per month at present.

Isn't that a riduculous statistic. People don't download IE7 (at least most of them), but they use it, because it comes with Vista and maybe IE6 in XP gets updated automatically, without people knowing about it even. When they open up IE next time, woop, it is a new browser! That might make someone's day! That's evolution :P

Ah, and I myself must have downloaded 100 copies or so. Too bad! They just lost a customer! I'm fine with Opera and for some random stuff, I'll get it done in Firefox Portable. No more shite being installed to freak out the entire OS! woooo!

They don't give jobs for 1st class you know. Because they think you will be going abroad shortly for your masters and/or PhD. :P

I'm fine with 2nd upper.

But, the PC ain't gonna be shut down. How can I live without the sound of the fans? :P

Lol... I had the same problem b4 I bought ma laptop... ;) BTW as I remember ur fans ddnt giv much noice ne.. I think I cudn't evn hear it the last time I visited ur place....
