BANGALORE: Sanjaynagar police arrested Adbul Madeem, Feroz Khan, Praveen, Raja and Hari on charges of kidnapping two Sri Lankan students on Thursday.
The victims were Anuz Barbat and Madhusank Alwa, students of BBM at Brindavan College in Bhoopasandra.
According to the police, the accused approached the two students at their residence in Bhoopasandra as RT Nagar police and CCB officials and took them to a real estate agency.
They told the duo that they were arrested on charges of selling ganja and demanded Rs 25,000 from them.
The duo called one of their friends Gunawardhena and asked him to bring Rs 25,000 to White House apartments in RT Nagar.
Gunawardhena called the RT Nagar police station to check if they were policemen.
