He started just five games in all competitions this season and managed just 11 in the previous campaign. Sturridge joined Liverpool in January 2013 - the same window as Philippe Coutinho, who also exited the club this month to become Barcelona’s record signing. The former Chelsea and Manchester City ace, out of contract in 2019, made 133 appearances which produced 63 goals for the Anfield side.</blockquote>
