Officers said they found him hiding under a chair during a search of his residence in Alabodagama, Pannala, where the heroin was later discovered hidden inside a cricket trophy.Police informed the court that Madushanka had been previously arrested for transporting drugs in a vehicle, and requested further time to question him regarding the source of the narcotics. The remand order was granted accordingly.Madushanka, now 30, has not played competitive cricket since his initial arrest in 2020, when he was suspended by Sri Lanka Cricket following a drug possession charge.
