Found above specs for this , yeah its ok and says it is supporting upto core 2 ex
bt chipset is 945GC n the memory is only upgradable upto 2 GB

for a price of 6xxx apecs are more than enough

bt he can buy mb with a 945GNT +++ intel or asus motherboard if he can spend more 1k ~ 2k n they're trouble free,
Asus is OK. Low-end Intel mobo's are crap!

Intel mbs are crap bcoz they dnt support oc ing , even i hate that:angry:
bt when it comes to stock performance Intel rules

Me and a friend of mine bought both of our pcs' together , he chose an asus 945G based mb n I chose an Intel 945GNT mb , He told me that when he switch on the computer,Always he's getting an error with a blue screen , He had asked the problem frm the place where he bought it n they have told that its normal , it happens bcoz of the lack of compatibility (asus boards n intel proc) , he says its a real headache n now sometimes hes getting some system errors, bt I never got any unless getting stuck due to lack of performance when using huge softwares

There is no such thing called lack of CPU compatibility in a mobo! They are designed perfectly according the spec sheet.

Maybe his mobo is faulty...That happens....(BIOS related issues are not checked when passing a mobo at the test)

My DG965RY faced a lot of problem when I used it.
1. RAM problems! When I upgraded from 1GB to 2GB, I had to waste 30 minutes to get it to POST. Same happened when I upgraded from 2GB to 3GB. (these are even 1.8V RAMs)
2. If you turn on the PC suddenly after powering up, your USB ports don't work. :D
3. I successfully killed my PC by using Intel's own BIOS upgrade utility

Overclock using BIOS upgrade utility? Believe me, that's gonna be in tomorrow's headlines!!! LOL

Anyway, I have a new mobo now. Will check if that stupid USB behaviour is still there.

Yes mannn , i dunno which upgrade utility ur talking about

I'm talking about Intel Integrator Toolkit (ITK) with this we can replace bios with values we want.
That is the one and only way to oc intel :D

some serious oc res at tech pup told me that after flashing the BIOS and installing the newer ver. with oc'ing values such as setting the Fsb , multiplier .. With ITK does the job

Bt you try it carefully if want ;) :D

Yeah! Hell... then what the hell MOBO is for!! like there are 1000's of CPU's to support..

Either his MOBO is faulty.. else he is trying to squeeze in a Quad where Duo belongs!!

What kind of "HUGE" softwares you mean?

Asus may have compatibility issues with some RAM manufacturers, but you can refer to their DIMM support in the manual to be on the safe side! And get a BIOS update because they will update their QVL (Qualifed Vendors List) time to time...

BEsides every thing isnt perfect. To decide that we should get the faulty ppm.
for example APack ZEROtherm have a 90 ppm, which means every 1 million parts they make they get 90 faulty ones.Thats for coolers.Think about mobos which have like 6 layers on the PCB..
