Transparent Electronics

• Institute - Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology

details - The chip, known as (TRRAM) or transparent resistive random access memory, is similar to existing chips known as (CMOS) or metal-oxide semiconductor memory, which we use in our electronic devices. The difference is that TRRAM is completely clear and transparent.

they say - "It is a new milestone of transparent electronic systems," says Jung Won Seo. "By integrating TRRAM with other transparent electronic components, we can create a total see-through embedded electronic systems."

I ask - What is the benefit of having transparency?

The technology could enable the windows or mirrors in your home to be used as computer monitors and television screens.




This technology is expected to be available within 3 to 4 years.

Wind Turbines

• The Bahrain World Trade Center is the first skyscraper to have wind turbines integrated into the structure of the building.

• This airfoil tapering allows the wind to enter the turbines at a perpendicular angle and increases air speed as much as 30 percent in each of the 95 ft wide turbine rotors.

• The turbines supply about 15 percent of the electricity used by the skyscraper - approximately the same amount of electricity used by 300 homes.

my views - It's a good effort to move on with this kind of energy sources which is totally free and environmental friendly.....

A House that Walks

• location - Wysing Arts Centre in Cambridgeshire, England.

• inventors - MIT and the Danish design collective N55

• Energy source - solar cells

• Speed - It is similar to the walking speed of a human.

• It has a kitchen, a composting toilet, a system for collecting rain water, one bed, a wood stove for CO2 neutral heating, a rear opening that forms a stairway entrance, and six legs.

• Totally Eco-friendly

• The legs reguire a software algorithm to calculate the movement and position of the legs to provide stability over varying terrain.

• The house can turn, move forward or backwards, or change height as required and can be programmed with GPS waypoints for travelling to destinations.

My views - Is it really essential to have a " Moving House "...... Nt for Sri Lankans... Bt for mad Englishmen....

Skycar - Drive and Fly

• Inventor - Gilo Cardozo, a self-taught aviation engineer

• Powered by - Modified 1000cc, four cylinder, 140hp, ethanol burning, Yamaha R1 superbike engine with a lightweight automatic CVT(continuously variable transmission) gear-box.

• Features - It has independent four wheel suspension and rear wheel drive. Road acceleration is 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 110 mph.

• How to fly?

To convert to flight mode, the driver unfolds a parafoil wing from the trunk (boot) and attaches it to the rear of the car. He then flips a switch to change the transmission from road mode, which powers the wheels, to flight mode, which powers the rear fan.

• Converting from “road mode” to “fly mode” and visa-versa takes about three minutes

• About fly mode -

Take off speed is 35 mph
Top air speed is 100 mph
Maximum altitude is 15,000 ft. with a range of 180 mph

My views- I really like this machine cz of the style which has a appearence of Lamborghini.... and the Energy source olso Eco-friendly ( Ethanol )....
It's a speed car at ol... and little bit practical machine.....
