The Academy of Design is offering Sri Lanka’s first ever course on Games Design which will commence on the 8th of May 2010. The course takes place over three months and is pitched at the game enthusiast who wishes to learn the process of games development.
The course will follow a very practical approach and will cover a breakdown of past and current game trends. Next the students will generate ideas and game concepts, and these will be focused into workable designs with actionable goals and defined outcomes. The next step will be the development of the idea’s into games, with the help of experienced game developers, using 3D studio Max, XNA games Studio 3.1 and Torque X 2D.
At the end of the course the Academy expects students to have developed an actual game that can be published onto the Xbox Live Networks, and to earn recognition from the international gaming community.
The course will be conducted by Harith Narada Gunewardene, who has a BIT in Games Design and Development from Deakin University, Melbourne.
