The Government has decided to revoke the Gazette notification that was published on banning the import of chemical fertilizers.
Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage confirmed that the Gazette that was issued on 26th April 2021 will be revoked.
He further announced that the private sector will now be allowed to import chemical fertilizers, weedicides, and pesticides.
The Minister added that the private sector can commence importing chemical fertilizers from today. (NewsWire)
