The long waited nVidia DirectX 10 cards, code named G80 were released yesterday. Only two models were released, and too bad, these are the top of the line cards: Geforce 8800GTX with 768MB RAM and Geforce 8800GTS with 640MB RAM.

Those cards are around US$550 and US$650 right now. The midrange cards such as 8600 variants will follow up in around 2007 February.

Here's a review of the cards. It's not entirely a review of the cards, but about the whole architecture.

Too bad there aren't any DX10 titles to test those features. But in the point of view of us, it's a good thing that there aren't any DX10 software released. Whew...

Yeah it seems the 8800GTS is US$500. :D
Anyway, we'll have to wait for those 1GB ATI cards (X2800??? dunno yet) until nVidia will lower the prices :(

But by the time you can afford that card, it won't be high end. It will pretty much be same as a GF6600 today.

I'm not that all happy with nVidia going with just 768MB RAM. I was expecting 1GB, since GF7950GX2 has 1GB. And this is not even GDDR4. ATI already have GDDR4 in 1950XTX.
