2000වසරේ තිරගතවුනු ග්ලැඩියේටර් චිත්‍රපටය සිහියට නගාගත් විට ජෙනරල් ඩෙසිමස් මැක්සිමස් සිහියට නගාගත හැකිය. "I am General Decimus Maximus, the commander of the Northern forces" මේ ඔහු චිත්‍රපටය තුල තමන්ව හඳුන්වාගත් ආකාරයයි.

කතාවට අනුව ජෙනරාල් මැක්සිමස් යුධවීරයෙකි. වසර ගණනාවක් ඇදීගිය රෝම-ජර්මැනික් ගෝත්‍ර අතර ඇදීගිය යුද්ධය නිමාකොට රෝමයට ජය ලබාදුන් වීරයා ඔහුයි.

රොමයේ රජු ලෙස අභිශේක ලබන්නට ඔන්න මෙන්න තිබියදි ඔහුව අත් අඩංගුවට ගනියි.

ඒ බලලෝභී රෝමානු කුමරෙකුවන කොමොඩස් අතිනි. ජෙනරාල් මැක්සිමස් සිඟිති දරු දෙදෙනා අමානුශික මරාදැමෙන්නේ ජෙනරාල්ගේ නිවසට එන රජ මැරයන්ගේ අශ්ව කරත්තයට හසුකිරීමෙනි. බිරිඳ දූශනයවී වද වේදනා විඳ මියයි. ජෙනරල් ගේ වතුවල සේවයකල වහලුන්, සේවකයින් ඒ මහා පාපයට බල්ලන් බලලුන් සේ මරාදැමෙයි.

කථාවේ අවසන් භාගයේ කොමොඩස් හා මැක්සිමස් අතර කොලොසියමේ මහා ජනකායක් ඉදිරියේ ද්වන්ධ සටනක් පැවැත්වෙයි.

නියත පරාජය හිමි බව දන්නා කොමඩස් සිය බලය අයුතු ලෙස භාවිත කොට සිය මැරයින් ලවා සටනට පෙර ජෙනරාල්ව සිරකොට ඔහුගේ ඇලපතට කිනිස්සකින් අනියි. පෙනහලු පසාරුකරගෙන ගිය ඒ පිහිපාරේ තුවාලය හොඳ හැටි වසා දැමේ.

සටන සිදුවන්නේ මාරාන්තික තුවලා සහිත මැක්සිමස් හා පැය 24රේම අන්තහ්පුරයේ ලගින රජ කුමරා අතරයි. සර්ව සාධාරණ ලෙස රෝම ජනතාවට පෙන්වූ සටනේ නියම ස්වඹ්හාවය එයයි.

මෙය කියවන විට ඔබට තවත් ජෙනරාල් කෙනෙකුගේ හා රජෙකු අතර වුනු සර්වසාධාරණ සටනක් සියට නැගෙනු ඇත. මේ දෙක අතර කිසිම සම්බන්ධයක් නැත. රෝම කොමඩස් මැරයෙක් වුනත් අපේ රජතුමා සංවේදීය, සර්ව සාධාරණය.

මැක්සිමස් වීරයෙකු වුනත් අපේ ජෙන්‍රාලය බුලට් හොරෙකි, දිනපු යුද්ධයක්ද් නැත.

yes you are right...i am a muslim....and i love our soldiers....

and unlike most muslims...i buried 5 cousins...of my same age due to LTTE attacks (bomb victims)....so that makes me like SF & MR even more....but when SF was willing to talk abt our military secrets and shame our troops....i stopped liking him

a man who puts his personal revenge in front of the pride and sacrifice of our soldiers...is not a good leader in my eyes.....
