He also isn't shy about asking for more money be added to the job.   Both of these were turn offs for me.   The first milestone took longer than he expected and he asked for more money. I wasn't pleased but I could see where he was coming from and I obliged. We had an honest misunderstanding midway through the job and both he and I thought the project scope was different. We tried to work on a resolution but he kept demanding to have all funds released to him even though they were in escrow, I wouldn't agree. After all, what's the point of escrow if you're going to be doing that?  We weren't able to resolve it which was unfortunate.
