They sure can ask you to do a presentation on some fictitious product. What they should be really after is is not to steal your concepts, which is ethically wrong, but to assess your sales abilities and skills of presentation or to conduct a meeting etc. For eg they can ask you to do a presentation to sell chopsticks. I know for some positions they repeatedly call the prospective candidates over several times. I find it a bit nonsensical & way over the top.  I can gauge anyone in less than 30 minutes fairly reasonably.</blockquote>
