Citizen needs to look at the possible scenarios with open mind. MR is a strong leader so is SF. MR has shown some reluctance to govern ethically at times (failed to diciplne ministers and MPs at times due to best reasons known to him). If MR wins the next election, he probably will continue to govern the same way. SF right now may not be under any obligation to anyone, however if UNP attempts to use him as a pawn, the country will be back to square one. One does not have to be Einstine to see what's going on. SF will have his own political honeymoon, which UNP strogmen are aware of. Once, SF's political honeymoon is over, UNP will most likely sideline him and that is the danger.SF will never be able to govern the way he wants. UNP will up to it's own old tricks again when in power. Citizen will be looser again. Unfortunately, that's the reality and country will never be the same. It is only a dream to see Sri Lanka peaceful, corrupt free nation. Only corrupt free leader Sri Lank saw was Dudley Senanayake and nobody else. We will never see another leader in SL of Dudley calibre.

Good for him as he did a good job in the war and to realise its time to have a break. Thank you for your services and the deployment of the army to wipe out terrorists in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Fonseka: While I wish you all success I caution you on your willingness to become a mere RUBBER STAMP President like the one in our neighboring country. Dont you feel that Sri Lanka's newly earned enviable position in the global map will suffer a setback with the kind of lame-duck governance structure Ranil has in mind? What good did the PM-Cabinet governance structure did to the country during the Mayyokka-bathala age? Didnt the Executive Presidency open floodgates of goodness to SL over the past 30 years? Executive Presidency is the best form of governace if the President is a clean man. Dont you know that, on election, the UNP will adopt pro-Western stand that will irritate emerging sole Superpower China, which backed us to the hilt during the war? Will not Russia, which protected us at the UNSC, be unhappy over our tinkering with their geo-political strategies in South Asia? Why does Ranil, a rejected leader, wants to piggy-back you to PM post? Arent you ashamed to give a ride to a man who said Thoppigala was a patch of jungle, and undermined your position as Commander of the Army?

This is just the first wave of the political tsunami. Await larger waves next week. The good for nothing, idle Ministers must be shivering and breaking into cold sweats, especially " shorty" of Kelaniya fame. God Bless the General, the true war hero!
