(1) bigger screen - 7 inch or 8 inch tablet screens are ideal for my experience. (2) there are other use of tablets (search internet/Google maps when wifi is available in many shops, malls and hotel rooms). So you can double check your destination.  (3) all major reputed brands have software for such tablets(e.g. android os) e.g. garmin, tom tom etc (the price may be 40-60 $, need to check)(4) there are free gps software and maps (or  just pay very little for full futures like voice guidance) . I have copilot premium (paid just 10$ ). The software and maps are good.  lifetime free map upgrades</blockquote>
