you cannot blame minorities for whom they voted, any country minorities will vote for the guy whom feel safe for them, its natural. for example last election in america, Hillary got most of minorities votes.even if you in america i am pretty sure you will vote for her.
you cannot insist them to vote Gotabaya considering the past his records, so their safe guy is Sajith whom they believe he is not a racist guy and obviously its witnessed in his election campaign.
there is a wrong concept going on for while now calling a minority leader as a racist guy, which is bad phenomena, it natural for any country, leaders coming forward to safeguard neglecting minority aspiration.
so when minorities witnessing emerging racism from majorities its common they together to a safe place that is sajith and its clear too many racist personals affiliated with gota is not a secret, so you should understand blaming them not voted for GOTA is not fair at all..

So when Tamils vote en masse for the politician who "dropped the term ‘unitary’ and the phrase ‘foremost place to Buddhism’ in his election manifesto" it is because "they feel safe with that candidate", but when Sinhalese vote for a leader who promised a unitary country it's because of racism???

It was minority leaders who brought forward those infamous 13 demands which called for the expulsion of Sinhalese from Tamil majority areas of the north and you dare say they are NOT RACIST?!
Rajapaksas treated all Sri Lankan citizen fair and equal, no Tamilian or Muslim was denied of what Sinhalese had, They spared no expense rebuilding north and east provinces post-war - where is this "racism" of the Rajapaksas you're blabbering on about?

But I agree that the reality on the ground is not much better either.. Every Minority political party will only suport the candidate who agrees to their demands or needs.. most of these demands are beneficial to the politicians in one way or another to further their policial carriers rather than the people they are supposed to represent... Except for fuckers like Thondaman who seems to have totally given up on even a resemblance of representing the Estate Tamils & only seems to be representing himslef.. and the Estate Tamils have wisened up to this at least somewhat, hence Gota losing Haputale & most of Nuwara Eliya.
If we are the minority, we would support whoever promises us to give most of our demands..we will vote for whoever seems to be the most sympathetic to our community..
So for Tamils & Muslims, if Sajith seems to be the most lenient to their requirements, obviously Sajith will be seen as pro-minority by us majority, when his rival will be viewed as pro-majority (As it should be from our point of view)
And Almost all of us Sri Lankans are RACISTS... there is no denying it... I am racists towards the minorities in varying degrees & proud of MY race, culture & religion.. And THEY are too of theirs.. It is natural
The Tamils & Muslims are even MORE racist towards us & are strongly protective of their race, culture & religion because they are the minority & in this election especially they were afraid to lose the religious freedom & arrogance the UNP let them exercise & obviously fearful of loosing much more if Gotabaya came to power
They had only one choice... So hating on them & calling them racists is pointless as We ourselves are racists aswell
