People in a village at Puttalam are jittering in fright after two suspected "Grease Yakas" were spotted in the area a short while ago, police said.
They said men armed to the teeth with swords and other sharp instruments have taken to the streets and are patrolling the village of Hijarathpuram in search of the two strangers.
The police assisted by the villagers have also mounted a hunt for the pair and have the asked the people to be calm.
