Mission Title: "The Restless Soul"
Mission Context:
After dealing with The Butcher and his gang, CJ’s reputation in Sri Lanka is growing. Mahesh, CJ's ally, introduces him to a strange and troubled man named Anuradha, a 30-year-old who claims to have ADHD and multiple personality disorder. Anuradha lives near Katuwapitiya Church, a quiet area in Negombo, with his elderly mother, a retired schoolteacher. Anuradha has a complicated relationship with his sister, who married into a wealthy family from Piliyandala. Her husband, Ranjith, often abuses Anuradha emotionally, but Anuradha puts up with it because he’s obsessed with driving Ranjith’s Range Rover, which is something he rarely gets to do.
Anuradha recently opened a dried fish hut with a friend near Negombo, but his mental health struggles and chaotic personality make it difficult for him to maintain the business. He spends much of his time begging on an online forum called Elakiri, where he seeks donations from strangers to get by. His life is a mix of dependence on others, fleeting dreams of success, and the constant pull of his mental health issues.
Mahesh is worried about Anuradha’s well-being and asks CJ to meet him. CJ reluctantly agrees, curious to see what kind of trouble might follow someone as erratic as Anuradha.
Mission Briefing:
CJ visits Anuradha’s small, cluttered home near Katuwapitiya Church. He finds Anuradha begging for money online and rambling about his ADHD. His elderly mother watches helplessly, unable to guide her troubled son. When CJ arrives, Anuradha immediately starts talking about how he wants to ride in his brother-in-law’s Range Rover, even though Ranjith often insults and belittles him.
Anuradha also shares that his dried fish hut is in trouble. His partner, Ravi, has disappeared after a dispute with local fish suppliers. Anuradha is worried the business will collapse unless they can secure new supplies or pay off a debt they owe to a Negombo-based thug named Saman "Shark" Fonseka, who controls much of the local seafood trade.
Mahesh asks CJ to help Anuradha out, either by resolving the issues at the dried fish hut or confronting Saman to give them more time. CJ sees potential for a payoff if he can smooth things over with Saman, but he’s wary of Anuradha’s unpredictable nature.
Mission Structure:
Stage 1: Trouble at the Fish Hut
Objective 1: CJ and Anuradha head to the dried fish hut near Negombo. Upon arrival, they find the business in disarray, with no fish, few customers, and the building falling apart. Anuradha is overwhelmed and doesn’t know what to do.
Challenges: CJ has to take charge of the situation. First, he must investigate what happened to Ravi, Anuradha’s business partner. Talking to locals, CJ learns that Ravi owes money to Saman "Shark" Fonseka and has gone into hiding.
Gameplay: This section involves exploration and dialogue, as CJ pieces together the events leading to Ravi’s disappearance. Players will interact with locals around the fish hut, gather information, and decide whether to try and track down Ravi or deal directly with Saman.
Stage 2: Confronting Saman "Shark" Fonseka
Objective 2: CJ decides the best way to help Anuradha is to confront Saman "Shark" Fonseka. Saman is a dangerous figure in Negombo, controlling much of the dried fish trade and extorting small businesses. CJ and Anuradha must travel to Saman’s headquarters, a run-down fish processing plant on the outskirts of town.
Challenges: Saman is not an easy man to negotiate with. He demands immediate payment from Anuradha or threatens to destroy the fish hut and possibly hurt Anuradha’s mother if they don’t comply. CJ has to decide whether to pay Saman off, negotiate more time, or fight his way out of the situation.
Gameplay: Players will have options in this section, ranging from negotiation to combat. If they choose to fight, CJ will face waves of Saman’s thugs in the fish processing plant. If they negotiate, players will need to choose the right dialogue options to convince Saman to back off without violence.
Stage 3: The Range Rover and Ranjith’s Abuse
Objective 3: After dealing with Saman, Anuradha is fixated on driving his brother-in-law’s Range Rover. Anuradha convinces CJ to accompany him to Piliyandala, where his sister and Ranjith live in a large mansion. Anuradha believes that if he can prove himself useful, Ranjith might let him drive the Range Rover.
Challenges: When they arrive at the mansion, Ranjith is in the middle of a heated argument with Anuradha’s sister. Ranjith refuses to let Anuradha near the Range Rover and insults him, calling him a failure and a burden on the family. Anuradha is humiliated, but CJ steps in, threatening Ranjith to treat Anuradha with respect.
Gameplay: This section is a mix of tense dialogue and decision-making. CJ can either intimidate Ranjith into letting Anuradha drive the car or resolve the situation more diplomatically by persuading Ranjith to show Anuradha some kindness.
Stage 4: A Chaotic Ride
Objective 4: If CJ successfully convinces Ranjith to hand over the keys, Anuradha finally gets his chance to drive the Range Rover. However, his ADHD and chaotic personality make the ride a wild, dangerous experience. Anuradha drives recklessly through the streets of Piliyandala, nearly crashing multiple times.
Challenges: CJ must take control of the situation before Anuradha causes an accident. Players will have to direct Anuradha while navigating traffic and avoiding obstacles. The ride quickly spirals out of control as Anuradha's excitement turns into recklessness, drawing the attention of the local police.
Gameplay: This is an intense driving sequence where players have to manage Anuradha’s erratic behavior while avoiding collisions, police pursuits, and chaos on the road. The goal is to bring the Range Rover back safely without causing too much damage or getting arrested.
