The confluence does not actually happen like a horizontal border through out, rather it happens in pockets.</p><p></p><p>To put in simple words, characteristics of Atlantic and Indian oceans differ, which gives rise different concentration of planktons, which in turn absorbs and scatter light in different way giving rise to different colors of water.</p><p></p><p></p><p>Not to be mistaken with river confluence where the color of silt and parent soil material gives rise to color variations.</p></blockquote><p></p>
