Today, on the 1st of March, 2010, H.R. Jothipala. the ever living singing legend, creates a world record.
FM Derana , the Sri Lankan radio station will play only Jothi's songs, starting from 7.00 a.m & will continue for 24 hrs. upto 7.00 a.m. on 2nd March, 2010. A song once played, will not be repeated during this period. This is said to be the first occasion in the world , that a vocalist is being honoured in this manner, thus creating a world record.
( Elvis Presley's songs had been played in a similar fashion but not for a full 24 hrs.) Guiness World record monitors will monitor the occasion. All credit to FM Derana.
