having only 1 partition is very bad...
having too many partitions is also very bad. waste of space.. :)

    Have something in the middle...

eg : if U have a 160 GB HDD having 1 partition is bad. But if U have like 10+ partitions is also useless... So have sth link 4-5 :)

if you have too many paritions. space is wasted to keep partition table information.. :(

there is a new partition magic version which supports vista...

What I do is, I do a partitioning with XP using partition magic.
    then install vista..

EasyBCD is a good sw for bootloader management in Vista...

    personally I dont like vista...
I stick up with XP pro SP2 :). Its powerful & robust & less resource eating

    Cheers

    Wrong answer.

Why he has 11GB less is because, Windows uses the 1024 byte = 1kB etc. (it should be KiB, but...:P) convention, but hard disk manufacturers opt for 1000byte = 1kB etc convention.

    so, 160,000,000,000/1024^3 = 149.01GiB

cha_sl, you are not missing ANYTHING!

    P.S.
Of course there is some space reserved for the partition table and indexes, BUT they are negligible compared to 160GB (or 149GiB)

Please don't use Partition Magic, if you have any love for the data on your discs. I have lost my entire data once, and many people in EK have had the same experience. Your mileage will definitely vary, but it ain't a wise decision to go with that.

Use Acronis Disk Director. Awesome, and very very reliable.
