Are you tired of uploading and re-uploading your files to share with others?
Do you want to offer them a fast reliable download without any download limits?

I recently came up with a way to answer these questions with no risks and no hustle and I'd like to share it with the community.

Of course there are literally hundreds of variations to this method but the general concept goes as follows:

    1. Before we begin, make sure you have prepared the file(s) to be uploaded. I've created a .rar but you're free to use single files or whatever else you want.

    2. Open a new Browser window (I suggest Chrome's Incognito so that you won't have to log off your gmail etc.)

    3. Type in http://www.google.com/accounts/ and click on the "Create an account now" link (if you can't find it or what you see is different than the following screenshot make sure you log off first)

    4. Where it asks for "Your current e-mail address" enter any label that has to do with your files (I used the name of the album I was about to upload) followed by @mailinator.com then keep on filling the rest of the fields with some random information.

    5. When you press the "I agree. Create my Account" button you will be presented with the following screen.

    6. Open a new Browser Window or Tab and type in http://www.mailinator.com. On the "Check your inbox" field enter the same label you entered on Step 4, without typing the @mailinator.com part.

    7. When you press the "Go!" button you will be presented with a screen like the following.

    8. After you click on the "Google Email Verification" email you're gonna be asked to type in 2 words (to prove to that you know how to read). Enter them and press the Enter key on your keyboard.

    9. After you press Enter, a screen like the following will appear. Go on and click on the first link to Activate your newly created Google Account.

    10. The following screen will prove that you've done everything right. It will also mean that you've just been given 1 GB cloud storage for free on Google's servers.

    11. Open a new Browser Window or Tab and type in http://docs.google.com. The following screen should come up.

    12. Click on the "Upload" button and you'll see the upload control panel.

    13. Click on the "Select files to upload" link and select your files. You can select 1 or more files.

    14. When you're ready to upload them, click on the "Start Upload" button.

    15. Now sit back and watch the progress of your upload.

    16. When the upload is done you will see the following screen.

From now on each case is different so just read through and act accordingly.

    17. Click on the file you just uploaded and you'll see the following screen.

    18. Click on "Share" -> "Get the link to Share". Check the "Allow anyone with the link to view (no sign-in required)" and Copy the link. Next, click the "Save & Close" button.

    19. Click on the "Download" link and you may or may not see the following screen (depending on the file size).

    20. Right click on the "Download anyway" link and Copy the Download URL.

Now you're ready to Paste the link for others to download your file. Thanks for sharing!

    FAQ

Q: Are there any size limits?
A: Of course there are. You get 1 GB of storage but this way you can create as many accounts as you need. Also there is a 250 MBs limit per file, which means that in order to upload really big files you'll have to split them with WinRAR etc.

Q: Will my links ever expire?
A: No. According to the way Google has handle others of it's services, even if the service gets shut down the files will still be available (Google Notebook, Google Pages etc.)

Q: Is download accelerators, download resume and simultaneous downloads allowed?
    A: Yes!

    Q: What about security?
    A: That's the best part.
    1) The mailinator account cannot be traced back to you.
    2) The Google account cannot be traced back to you.
    3) The extra steps used to get the direct download link ensure that no normal visitor would ever be able to go back to the intermediate page that has a Report link. This means that any wannabe reporter, will have to go through the fully bureaucratic Google's automated machine answering system that usually never leads to an actual person and even when it does this person is often unable to help.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
