When you do something that stresses the PC (gaming, rendering, encoding etc.) and when the power goes off, even if you have a UPS, the PC might reset/turn off. Or the PC could reset/turn off when the power comes back on.

Has this happened to anyone? Have you found a solution for it?

What should I do if that happens there also? Or if it doesn't happen there?

I know few other people who have this problem.

im not an expert on these kind of things, this is just my personal exp. :D

as far as i know these kind of things will happen due to three reasons...
    bad ups
    bad power supply
    bad motherboard battery

so if your friend has a good setup which doesn't have this problem then take your ups to that pace and check. so you know if there is a problem in your ups or not.

Anyway, I had this problem with every UPS I tested on my PC : different brands and capacities.

I also tested it with two different power supplies too. Same thing.

    Now what?

that is not an option for the ups...if there is a high voltage ups must normalize it and send it to the pc, that's what ups do right..

oh this is strange...then there must be a problem in your mother board or something or some feature...

Yes, a good UPS should regulate the power output from it.

    Hey mate,

Did you check the fan and heat sink on the processor is fine you might need to give a service, if there's dust.

Next thing is the correct jumper/basic settngs on the mobo for processor (Read the Mobo Manual for more info)
Try Installing drivers for chipset too

I think somethings getting heats up and reset the computer or incorrect hardware configuration (possibly the mother board settings for processor)

    good luck anusha mate

It has nothing to do with software or drivers.
It's not a overheating problem. This is a new CPU/motherboard. Same happened with the old PC too.

well all i can thik of is dat its either somthing wrong with ur UPS inbuilt stabilizer. U might want to check it out.

Also if the power consumption of ur UPS is too high, Then it cant support the power output and will turn off when the power goes off. This is typical if u have a 17" CRT monitor.

A normal UPS is capable of handling a 17" monitor easily. Just that you shouldn't turn it on if it's already off, while the PC is running on power provided through the UPS' battery. Sure, it will lower the uptime of the PC because of the high power draw, but it should not restart the PC.

But the thing is, this happens with other UPS as well - not even the same brand. I have already changed this UPS telling them that there is such a problem.

My UPS is a PowerTree S600B btw.
