Intercepting LTTE communication channels, it is further confirmed that terrorists suffered heavy losses. </p><p>In subsequent search operations conducted in the area troops have found 2 bodies of LTTE terrorists killed during the fighting along with military items left behind by the fleeing terrorists. 8 x 81mm mortar booby traps, 35 x hand grenades, 1 x T-56 weapon and 1 x I-Com set were among the items uncovered. </p><p> </p><p style="text-align: left"><p style="text-align: center"><strong>11 SLLI troops found a large quantity of LTTE arms and ammunition from west of Pudikudirippu yesterday, 26 February. LTTE terrorists unable to face the effective military thrust of the security forces fled that area leaving behind their arms and ammunition.
