Help me to buy a computer

1. These days, nobody should go for a PentiumD if they have money to buy a Core 2 Duo.

2. 3GB is not a good value. It should be either 2GB or 4GB

3. 7600GT and X1650Pro are not comparable. 7600GT and X1650XT are,

4. That Viewsonic monitor is too expensive and has lower specs than the Samsung SyncMaster 932B.

1. I think you works for intel coz comparing to a core 2 duo and its price, Dual core is worthy. (Coz C2D is only 1.4 x faster than a DC at same speeds(Mhz) and performance) (intel has removed specs of DC frm their site and P4 specs are still there so its just their buisness trick)

2. 3GB is a good value coz the next gen game requirements will only be increased by adding 512mb ram and have to think about the budget.

3.Those two are comparable ne ayye, see it your self and post specs of em for us

1. Roughly, a Core 2 Duo 1.86GHz is as fast as a 3.4GHz Pentium D in general applications and faster than any Pentium D or Pentium 4 CPU ever built, in games.

2. 3GB is not a good value, unless the guy had already made a mistake, like I did. I had to go for 2x512MB initially, and this prevented me from going for 4GB ever, unless I sell my 2x512MB RAMs

3. They are not! 7600GT = X1650XT (X1650Pro is very slow compared to a X1650XT - slower than a 7600GS)

4. I have the Samsung with me. It's got a 5ms response time and DVI. The Viewsonic one doesn't.

Viewsonic: Analog only

All the others are same (contrast ratio, brightness etc.)

And don't forget the price.
Samsung = Rs.28000
Viewsonic = Rs. 32000+

Anywhere, except here, if someone buys an LCD, it's either Apple, Dell, Samsung, NEC or Acer.

Higher price is because of EPSI

Power consumption:
Viewsonic = typical 33W (who knows the maximum is could be 50W )
Samsung = maximum 37W

It's always better to state the maximum value.

Besides, lower response time requires more power.
