You cant buy a decent sound card for that price. The only card available is the Audigy Value which is 3.4k or so. It performs on par with onboard but has slightly better Audio clarity(Due to less noise) and EAX effects.

And CK by telling bass/trebble controls do you mean this window?

Is so this is not available in the Audigy Value and im 100% sure that its not available on his onboard either. So he's not loosing anything! But he will gain slightly better audio clarity!

Hey, I have a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Live 7.1 sound card. Its superb, Maxa quality. I have a Realtek 7.1 sound card built in to my mother board too. But I feel a real difference with my Sound Blaster Audigy. I think the most valuable option for a reasonable price is this. I bought it for Rs 3500 about 1.5 years back. Now the price should be about Rs. 3000.

Sound quality wise its more likely the same...If you have good speakers ull see a slight improvement in quality.Specially when you increase the volume. The onboard grunts a lot @ high volume(Due to the noise/EMI). on the Audigy you can increase further without the grunts.....And of course ull see a big difference in games as the Audigy supports EAX Advanced HD 4.0........

Overall you'll be getting something better(Depending on the speakers you have).........
