When you buy a Pc from a shop, it usually contains some information about the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), like their name, support URL and so on. OEM Info Tool will allow you to change the OEM info of your PC and customize it to your liking.

Prepare your own OEM logo or image, cut / crop it to 120×120 pixel and save it as BMP file format (a.k.a. Bitmap file format).

Next, save this 120×120 BMP file to system32 folder as OEMLogo.bmp, i.e.
    copy YourLogo.bmp system32\OEMLogo.bmp
Now, open up Windows Registry Editor,i.e.

    1. Click the Vista Orb (Vista Start button)
    2. Type regedit on the Start Search textbox and press ENTER
    3. Click the regedit.exe link shown in the Program list

    Browse to this Registry path
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation
(If you can’t find the OEMInformation key, right-click the CurrentVersion key, select New followed by Key option and name the new Key as OEMInformation)

While at the OEMInformation key, right-click on the right-pane, select New followed by String Value to create these Registries as “String Value” type:

    Logo – the full path of OEMLogo.bmp, i.e. C:\windows\system32\OEMLogo.bmp
    Manufacturer
    Model
    SupportURL
    SupportHours
    SupportPhone

Double-click each of those Registries and enter the text descriptions, as show in this screenshot:

Backup and Restore If you have already set OEM information yourself or your OEM has set the information, then OEM Info Tool will show this information on the startup. In this case, it as highly advised that you backup your original information before making any changes. To make a backup of your current settings, select File • Backup. If later you want to restore the settings from the backup, you can choose File • Restore.
Adding and Modifying If you have not set any OEM information previously, then OEM Info Tool will show up with all fields blank. You can add any information you want. You must fill all the fields and choose a logo file before you can save the changes. To choose a logo file, click on the button labeled Browse Logo. Alternatively, you can select from menu File • Browse Logo. Then select a Windows BMP file. The logo file should be 120x120 pixels in size and should be of type BMP only. I have provided some logo files on this page for you to start with. Right-click on any of the logo and select Save As to save that logo file on your hard disk.

After you have filled all the text fields and chosen a logo, click on the button labeled Change to save the information. Alternatively, you can choose from menu File • Change to save the information. After saving the OEM information, you will have to close and reopen the System Properties to see the changes. To open the System Properties window, press the key combination Windows Key + Pause. Alternatively, you can right-click on Start Menu • Computer and select Properties to open the System Properties window.

You can see the System Properties window for Windows 7 Ultimate in the above picture. The OEM logo picture has been set using the OEM Info Tool.
