I would, if the damn thing worked. Curses on BFG Tech! Now I'm restricted to playing Heroes Of Might & Magic 5 on the onboard Radeon HD 3300. :(

No man. Not the video card. As I said, I disconnected and took everything out and laid the mobo on a table and tried with just the processor. Still the same problem. The PSU turns on and then goes to latch-off state.

arrgh! you are screwed up mate :(
Why not RMA ?
Try switching on the PSU nothing attached to it.. (Green wire with any of the black wires). Anyways PSU seems to be dead :(

Thanks to each and every one of you for your input.

I took it all apart. Had just the mobo and processor connected to the PSU (not in the casing) but the problem persisted. I tried a 450W PSU I had without the Video Card and the machine works fine. So it is something wrong with the PSU.

Since it doesn't make sense to ship it back for warranty, I'm royally screwed I guess. Coupla questions.

    1. Is there anyone in Colombo who might be able to have a look at the damn thing and maybe try to fix it?

    2. Where can I get a 700Watts or higher PSU for a good price here?

    Thanks!

PSU ekak gannanum Colombo vala Unity Plaza yanna.

PSU's not dead. There's power coming to the mobo. It turns on but dies in a second.

The sucker's heavy. It'll cost an arm and a leg to ship it back and forth. So RMA's not an option.

Yeah the 700W PSU at e-globe seems to be the only option now.

Same thing happened to me when I had my P4, PSU was a crappy Mercury one, I was encoding a video with premiere and suddenly the PC went off. When I switch it On it powers up and switches off by itself within seconds.. I took the PSU to a TV repairing guy. Some of the soldering s on the PCB were loosened, It just needed to re solder the loosened pins and cost me only 100Rs

I have a BFG ES-800 PSU. Since my computer
was assembled on Feb 3rd, it was running ok without a hitch. Had it on
    overnight once even.

Yesterday, it was working fine and the I restarted. No hardware
changes. And it refused to boot. If I disconnect and reconnect power,
or toggle the PSU on/off switch, it turns on, fans start spinning for
a coupla seconds and then turns off by itself. I see that power's
coming to the mobo coz the mobo LED's are on. I tried disconnecting
the VGA card, all HDDs and optical drives, aux fans etc, but with the
    same result.

Also, when I plug this in, a fuse on my home fuse board turns off.
This happens even if the PSU on/off switch is set to off. When I turn
the fuse back on and then the computer, it works. This has been
happening from day one, but didn't cause any problems. The system was
operating fine. I thought it was because the PSU was overloading my
    home power supply.

Any ideas? I bought this shit from Newegg. Obviously, RMAing is not really an option. :(

machan check the RAM, or remove the hard disk and check it

or if its ask the bootable disk just put it in the Rom and restart....

Not component errors guys, I'm pretty sure it's the PSU. Looking for a skilled electronics repair guy to take it to? Know anyone? Expenses no bar.

    @Gayannr : Why don't I see you online?
