Help Needed ASAP..!!!

guyz i am having a probem with my pc. today i was playing a game when suddenly the computer switched off with a loud "click" noise. now the pc doesnt switch on. when i press the power button nothing happens. even the cpu fan doesnt start. i disassembled everything and put it back together again.. but still no luck. what may be causing the problem??? the power supply??? help plsss

Possibily PSU problem. My Intel board also died in a similar manner, but not the same way.

when i turn on the UPS the power LED in the motherboard lights up.

what the CPU??? it's a pentium D 820 2.8GHz
bought it from tulip comuputers at unity plaza..

most of the places whre they sell the comps giv the service for free. OS take it there, and check what is wrong. But dnt fix it frm them if they charge more. mama nam ohe inna kota ooka kala

It should be your PSU.Lets see.If not the CPU/CPU Fan or the mobo.
PSU check
Remove all DC connections frm PSU to PC.Power the PSU.Short the pin #16(the light green wire) with a black one.Its the PSU_ON signal wire.This should make your PSU on.
CPU & FAN check
give 12V to cpu fans black and blue ones(black and the next one to it,black being -).If it spins its ok.To chk CPU get it into frnds comp and chk.
mobo chk
mobos cannot be checked unless u got the mobo check pin header on mobo (which is very rare coz after chking the mobo it is removed)and the mobo MFGs mobo chk system .U have to chk all other parts ,If all are working its the mobo.

Oh one thing.I assume u use cheap PSUs on the market.If its a high end one they need to be loaded few amps on rails to be powered on.SO if its a good one attach 1,2 fans to it and short the green with black.

I guess the problem is with Power supply. I checked it from pc house...
Power suplly has gone down & then bcoz of that motherboard also having sum problemss... i think that's it... check that bro...
