Police have found a powerful claymore mine near the Valachchenai bus stand this morning.
According to the defence sources, the mine, placed near a shop was found on information given by a civilian.
This mine weighing three and half kilograms was defused by the security forces immediately, Valachchenai police said.
There were a large number of morning commuters at the bus stand when the claymore mine was found.
