Why does the rice price increase much within a year?

Earlier about 1 year ago 5kg Samba rice pack was less than 450/- and now it's about 850/-. Why double price within a year? What causes to price increase. Other variety of rices are same high price! But, we don't have salary increment.

Covid-19 affects economy. But, what happen to rice since Sri Lanka produce rice (it import too). High price affects middle and lower incomers. High price increasing and same income put people in critical condition.
