Visited the most important sites in Hokkaido and returned back to Sapporo. This island is less populated, the poplation density must be very low but farming seems to be the major factor.
We almost covered the area during the last few days, tomorow will visit Lake Toya and will fly to Tokyo on Saturday. There are many beautiful places , all nature, not concrete or theme parks that many visit. People are friendly even they don't understand English.
This is Oshin Koshin fallls in the Shiretoko Natonal Park which is a World Heritage Site.

Don't forget to travel on Kiha series pendolino trains

Thanks....Too late... Usually everywhere we use a rental car collected at the airport and return. The amount of travelling that we do canont be easily manged by public transport. For example yesterday I drove from Sapporo to Hakodate and returned. One way approx 325kms. The train is possibly faster, but with a car we have many places to visit along the way, The toll charges on Expressways alone was approx 10,000 JPY yesterday alone both ways.

    Hey,

Would you be able to share your trip details? Such as, how much did it cost in total? How did you manage tourist visa. Is it possible to explore these things as a sole traveler? Do I need someone in Japan? What is the best season to travel to Japan? Etc.

    Really appreciate.

The best times to visit Japan is the Cherry blossom time (between April to May) and in the Autumn. The visa depends on your personal circumstances. This is our fourth visit to Japan. This time the autumn is a bit delayed.

Most details can be found on - https://www.japan-guide.com/

Accommodation in Japan can be expensive during the peak seasons, but if you are single thare's much cheaper backpacker options. There are hostels that provide reasonable rates near public transport locations.

The way we do sightseeing is different to others. We aren't interested in concrete and theme parks. We visit nature. It's difficult to do unless you drive. For the last 8 days we had travelle 2800 kms in Hokkaido. No travel agent will cover that.
I do not plan these things but my wife does, well in advance. I only drive, but now there's my son too.

If you are serious, message me when ready I will suggest where to travel. Also there will be others in Japan who could help with info better than myself.
