Top notch giallo from director Lamberto Bava. Film composer Bruno (Occhipinti) is working on the score for a new thriller and retreats to a huge secluded villa. But once there, a mysterious killer begins stalking various young women...and Bruno finds himself trapped in a confusing web of secrets. Can he decipher the whole mess before the madman reaches him? Originally created for Italian TV, this spunky slasher from director Bava is well made splatter buoyed by some efficient pacing and at least one merciless gore scene (the bathroom murder...ouch!). Handsome lead Occhipinti (also in Fulci's sleazy 1982 New York Ripper) delivers a decent performance and keeps his head above water as the terror level heightens. With echoes of tone faintly similar to Tenebre from Argento, Blade is an admirable horror effort worth seeking out.

5. À l'intérieur (2007) aka Inside

After losing her husband in a car wreck, our main character is stalked by a psychotic woman one night before giving birth to her baby... Many people have complained that this movie would have been much better if it weren't so violent but that's what makes it interesting. The movie is slow moving due to the fact that it takes place in a house and the blood keeps it interesting. You are constantly waiting for the next sucker to get it and see how it happens. Sure there's a twist, but it still wouldn't save the movie from being completely boring unless there were inventive deaths to shock and scare. It's really fun to see people's reaction to how badly this woman is beaten throughout the film.

Based on the short Stephen King horror story of the same name, 1408 surrounds supernatural writer Mike Enslin, an author of two hit books focusing on supernatural phenomena. However, instead of becoming a "Night Of The Living Dead"-style creature right off the bat, he disintegrates gradually, in a manner akin to cancer or AIDS. He and his wife Denise do their best to cope with his slipping away, not to mention the fact that he can't stop killing and eating people. As their best friends arrive for a weekend visit, she makes him promise her that they're off-limits. He agrees, but finds it more and more difficult to control himself. She hangs in there because he's the love of her life, but it becomes more and more apparent that her life is in jeopardy as well.

After the first movie the two surviving main characters, Suger (Jill Michelle) and Dex (Daniel Lennox), flee to Little Rock Arkansas in search of a way to revive their vampire hunting friend Ivan (Ricardo Gil). Upon Arrival they set up in a seemingly run-down motel room. Using Ivan's cross to hunt out a vampire powerful enough to revive their friend, leads them to a local gentleman's club (Visions Cabaret). After the cross leads them to the nightclub, Sugar decides to give her old profession another try to gain entry into the inner circle to gain information on finding the vampire. Dex also gains emplyment at the club to do the same and also keep an eye on Sugar. After their suspicions lead them past several vampire leader candidates such as club owner Janos (John-Paul Gates), club manager Burke (James C. Burns), and fellow dancer Lena (Jessica Morris), they find what they are looking for in a highly unlikely candidate.

After discovering a passenger ship missing since 1962 floating adrift on the Bering Sea, salvagers claim the vessel as their own. On a hot summer afternoon in the sleepy town of Blackwater, Louisiana locals exiting a retro-fitted theater excitedly watch as a meteor streaks across the sky and crashes through the roof of the local Natural History Museum. No one realizes that the meteor is actually a spaceship containing a shape-shifting life form. In order to adapt to Earth's atmosphere, the life form latches on to the first organism it comes in contact with - a partially frozen Woolly Mammoth found in the historic exhibit for which the town is famous. As a series of uncanny disasters unfold, the town quickly finds itself overrun by the alien-possessed mammoth. Local authorities and Government Investigators join forces with Frank Abernathy, the Museum Curator, and his father Simon, a B-Movie enthusiast to bring down the mighty mammoth, thus saving the town (and the world) in a wild adventure that blends the 50's alien-invasion flick, and the 70's revenge-of-nature opus into a marauding monster mash!
