How did he take the ball??

Two boys were palying a Table Tennis ball in a ground. Accidently the ball fell into a deep hole and they coudn't take it out. As the hole was not very wide for them to put their hands they couldn't do it. They tried to take it out with some twigs but still they were unseccessful. Suddenly one of the boys got an idea to take it without giving any damage to the hole, and he just took the ball out of the hole??? Question is how did he do that?

Guys be honest n try to use ur own brain.
