Sri Lanka's army chief said Tamil Tiger leader Vellupillai Prabhakaran's body was found and Sri Lankan TV stations aired video of what appeared to his corpse, with the top of its head blown off.

There was no independent confirmation available.

Private TV stations Derana and Swarnavahini showed soldiers surrounding what they said was Prabhakaran's body, with his trademark moustache and distinctive Tiger stripe camouflage fatigues.

Fonseka did not give an account of where Prabhakaran' body was found, nor how he was killed.

most of the media are biased and dont wanna really say that we actually declared victory over the LTTE , in the first few days we saw BBC and the Al- Jazeera saying that this was just some sort of media scandal done by the GoSL, they were just focusing on the failed media diaspora by the Pro LTTE supporters within those countries. how the hell are they report stuff when they are not able to reach the battle front.....cowards !!!!!

look at all our SL....including rupavahini , swarnavahini and ITN....look at their stunning jobs in the battle front risking their live shooting the scenes.....
what bloody hel do the BBC cameramen know.......
