How is life in Melbourne?

Hi,

I would like to know the life in Melbourne you guys and gals having? Since me and lots of people are hoping to come to Melbourne in the future I appreciate if you all can guide us about various aspects about living/lifestyle/transport/Schools & Universities/accommodation/part time jobs/ places to visit/ SL events / interaction with the local people/finding sl people etc....in Melbourne and other states of Australia.

mel.... nice place to live.... and palce for hard workers...

around city..public transport is very good....trains, buses,trams....working till midnight...( may be 10 pm..)..but if u r living little bit far from city... u have to have a car....as i live in last suburb of mel..lol... it takes me to 20 mins to go to my work place by car...if i take public transport...it takes me 2 hours...
and if u r international student u can use concession .... in vic.... dnt knw bt other states...

schools and uni.... most of them are good...but damn expensive..cuz we are international students...

accomodation are also so expensive..and everyday gng up..... rent is around $ 150 for a week.. a 1 bedroom house...in zone 2....in city it is damn expensive
if u share a house wth freinds then it is kk...

part time jobs..............lol....sorry to say..but in mel..it is very hard to find part time jobs now....if u have some experience...u may able to find ....otherwise it take long time to find....and depends on ur luck.....

thr r 1000s of places to visit....to enjoy it is one of the best place in world...but everything is $$$$

but i think mel is to much crowded...specially indians...so annoying....
