if you have a router or a switch, plug both PCs to that.
If not, you'll need a cross link cable to connect the 2 pcs

buy one from a PC shop.
To make one, you need cat 5 cable, 2 RJ-45 jacks and a cable crimper.

crimp the 2 jacks to the cable like below :

give both PCs, IP addresses in the same subnet.
Eg :
PC1 - 192.16.1.5
PC2 - 192.168.1.6

now use the network configuration wizard and create the same work group in both PCs.
now you can just right click on any folder and select share and it'll be shared.
from the 2nd pc, you can go to browse network and select the other pc and it'll show available folder shares.

1. machan cross link lable ekak kiyanne umba PC eka router ekata connect karanna ganna cable eka. network cable kiyalath kiyanawa. ehema ekak thiyenawa nam PC dekama a cable eken connect karanna (PC dekema LAN port ekata cable eka gahala)
2. ita passe control panel eke "Networl and internet" heading ekata pahalin thiyena "view network status and task" eka click karapan.
3. ethakota ena page eke left side eke thiyena list eken "change adaptor settings" kiyana eka click karapan.
4. ethakota umbe network connection tika pennai, ethanin umba net connect wenna use karana connection eka select karapan (godak welawata "local area connection" kiyala eththe eka). eka yatin rathu paata X ekak daala nethnam eka connected.
5. connection eka hoyagena eka right click karala properties palayan.
6. eken "networking" kiyana tab eka yatathe check list ekak ethi "this connection uses the following items" kiyla. ethanin "internet protocol version 4" double click karanna.
7. ita passe eka menu eken "use the following IP address" kiyana radio button eka select karanna.
   
8. umbe PC eke IP address eka hoya ganna start menu eka yatama files search karanna thiyena thena "cmd" kiyala gahanna ( " mewa nethuwa, CMD akuru 3 witharak).ethakota command prompt eka ei. ethana "ipconfig" kiyala type karala enter karanna. ethakota ena list eken "ethernet adapter local area network connect" kiyana eka yatathe umbe IP address ethi, eke "IPv4 address" eke thiyena number ekai "subnet mask" ekai liya ganin.godak welawata eththe 192.168.2.2 and 255.255.255.0 kiyala.
9. den ara issella awa properties window eke IP address kiyana thena umba liya gaththa IP address eka gahapan, hebei unthima number eka witharak wenas karala (192.168.2.5 wage).
10. subnet mask eka click karapu gaman auto ekata subnet mask eka ei, eka change karanna epa.Default gate way eka poddak thiyanna.ekata passe atha gahamu
