My monitor is a HP 5502. It only displays a resolution of upto 1024x768 max. But when I had my nVidia FX5200, I used the nvidia driver to force a resolution of 1152x864. But after I got struck by lighning, (while posting in EK), I have an on board Intel chipset and It cant do the wonders of the nVidia thing.
But I installed the nv-tweak utility and it unlocked me the res I needed. But the HP drivers are resetting when the monitor installs itself at bootup.
I need to remove the driver files from the machine. I tried un-installing the HW and deleting backup'ed driver files in sys32. But the damn driver keeps appearing and installs the monitor.
I have never seen a driver that reduces functionality of a component like this HP shit.
Please give me some help if you have any ideas.
Thanks
