The bird deaths are being attributed to suspected poisoning. Some have already been eaten by predators including fishing cats, crocodiles, and birds of prey, and sadly there may be a knock-on effect on them too and further up the food chain.DWC officers are probing the incident with locals and we urge anyone with information to come forward. Killing wildlife is a serious crime and the WNPS urges the authorities to take necessary legal action against those found guilty.
