I do not know if you ever tried to find out what that is..."one" cannot "remove all his desire"  - because what you call "one" (or what "we" call "self", "I", "me") is there because reasons that needed to ...It continue to exist as long as the required reasons are there... It will cease to exist when the reasons are not there...When "one" practices Dhamma "his"/"her" actions cripples the way those reasons develops... because of which the existence ceases at some point...["I" have used (in above few lines) the words that "we" use to denote what "we" perceive as "self" within double quotes]I do not want to explain why we choose to terminate the existence; without thinking of eternal life with nothing but happiness... because I do not want to compare Dhamma with what you believe in.
