The community edition is not a trial which will expire some day. It just doesn't get the extra bit of support from MySQL AB the company which develops MySQL. You will have the full power of MySQL with the community edition. But you will have to take care about installing configuring and securing the DB server yourself which actually is not a difficult task.

Go for the community version. Its very easy to setup. Just make sure when you down load it you get the one with the installer. You don't have to go for the enterprise edition.
