    yes, mail are relayed using SMTP servers.
    Technically, you can send mail out with just a SMTP server and have no MX record. Setting the MX record is to receive mail for your domain.

    MX Record is a category of data in the Domain Name System specifying how Internet e-mail should be routed. :nerd:

    My friend told me that Mails can be send using open relay with bunch of telnet commands. is it possible?:rolleyes:
