It's not about living like a king. Forget the materialistic things. End of the day what truly makes people happy is doing good things, living without worry, good relationships etc. These can be achieved anywhere in world.
Home country will have more chances of having these.
(If you go abroad and have every single materialistic thing but allapu gedara dial ekath ekka poddak hina wela ah machan kohomada kiyala kiyanna bari nam I wouldn't think that's a good life)

I didn't mean they're not friendly. What I meant was having that sri lankan feeling. No matter what I would be an alien there. I would miss living with our buggers, the culture and all the freaking drama going on. Just my personal opinion.
Others will feel different.

Haven't lived abroad for considerable time periods. And yeah children would be natives and fit in. It's their life.

i have seen some sri lankans saying compared to foreign countries sri lanka is full of beaches, good weather , waterfalls and scenic greeny places. now i am starting to wonder whether these opinions are coming from sri lankans living in the middle east. i have seen greeny countries blessed with nature , beautiful greeny mountains, good food , good weather and white sand beaches.
