[QUOTE="Anusha, post: 85851, member: 828"] Intel 945 chipset supports Core 2 Duo, but some motherboards doesn't have 1066FSB. Some have. I don't know the exact models which supports them, but if you check the manuals before you buy, you will find out. The Gigabyte one they have at PC House didn't support Core 2 Duo at 1067FSB. You might be able to install one, but it will run at 8000FSB so a 1.86GHz CPU will work at 1.4GHz (200x7 instead of 266x7). Are you sure that 2.8GHz Pentium D is 15000? Way too expensive. I bought my Core 2 Duo 1.86GHz for 23,500. However, I have to agree that there aren't any cheap motherboards for Core 2 Duo. Also GTR told me that now the Core 2 Duo prices have gone up. Lucky me, that I could find a Core 2 Duo for that price. It seems like the whole system's price doesn't come under your budget. I recommend downgrading the CPU to a 2.66GHz Pentium D FSB533. I have seem people who have overclocked that CPU beyond 3.5GHz. Hopefully you will be able to do the same, if you have the will. Cheaper motherboards come with only two DDR slots. I believe you will be hoping to keep the PC for at least 3 years. Then you might one day need to increase the amount of RAM to 2GB (for Vista at least). Then you have to look for a motherboard with 4 DDR2 slots. Maybe you can add a video card later? Go with onboard video for the moment? But the thing is, you will not be able to play any of the current games, even the ones released last year or even before that. My motherboard has the best onboard graphics in the world, and when the final drivers are released, it will most probably supersede a Geforce 6600GT. Intel X3000 (which can be found on motherboards with 965G chipset) will also have hardware support for DX10, because the pixel processors can be programmed by software.
