Sri Lanka has a impeccable history as solid as the Sigiriya rock it self I may add.. I'm in a country where people look at a "Gon Karaththaya" and say "wow!!" and I laugh from my @ss!!
So the benchmark of history for some!!! In that sense we are far more superior becauseSRI LANKA MAY BECOME DEVELOPED SOME DAY.. BUT.. NO ONE CAN TRAVEL BACK IN TIME AND GET WHAT WE HAVE!!!
However, we must carefully asses the facts because there are a lot of myths around us, or unproven things... as for Rama Rawana story... its a folk story which is not very different from a shipped in HINDI MOVIE!! And India especially the southern part always had grudges against us.. and STILL DO!! This Rama Rawana story doesn't have any materialistic evidence to prove its claims, and still some people in India call Sri Lankans a generation that descends from RAWANA.. I know this first hand!! Anyway... Needless to say everything comes with this story is purely mythical.. "Dandu Monara" never existed!! NO WAY!! Just think if Sri Lankans or Indians knew how to fly at that time our empires are not limited to what we have today!!
So does the ADAMS Bridge, ADAM'S Bridge is said to have built to rescue "Seetha" from Rawana right? OK fair enough reason to build a Bridge!!
But who is the STUPID who builds a Bridge (if it was ever existed) which might take a life time to build? So RAMA was building a bridge for 30 years or more when he simply had to sail over? I DON'T THINK SO!!! If he was smart enough to Kill Mr.RAWANA he would've taken a swift decision!! That's a sand barrier, these things are everywhere like what we have in Aussie... the great barrier reef!! Result of Millions of years of earth changes!!
Although having water fountains in Sigiriya could be possible.. BUT its NO mystery.. its simple PHYSICS!! And the only explanation for this is Sinhalese knew how to use the LAWS OF PHYSICS in to their advantage, even at that time!! For that evidence is all around the country.. from Temples to Great Tanks!
So some times we have to filter the fact from fiction!!

Machan, well I can't agree with you completely. But with some facts, yes I agree.
History is a place where we could easily get lost. We can't believe the history completely. but I believe once we open our minds like big blue sky, we can see the truth. I am only replying to the facts that I do not agree...
Well yes we can't completely believe that Ramayanaya was a true story. But that doesn't mean that it could be a myth. You are saying that you can't believe anything without proper facts. Which means you can't say that it was just a myth too. because history is under the soil so we have to dig it more deeper. As much as we dig it, we could see the history.

At the time we are talking about, as much as we know there were nothing called Flying sourcers. The first known aircraft which can take humans took place in 1903. Of cource by Wright brothers. But Chinese had the basic technology of helicopter way before even Wright brother's ancestors born. And they used it. If you are a hard core material based believer I give you a good example.
Leonardo da Vinci. Do u know he designed a flying soucer in 1502?
He designed it about 400 years ago Wright brothers flew. And referring to that fact, how can you or anyone can possibly say that Dadumonaraya never excised? Also that story came along with Ramayanaya. As we know every story has a reason. How those people even imagined about a flying saucer? How they got that idea?Where was the fountain of it? In this modern world, can we predict about something which doesn't exist right now? At least, we need the idea right?
What I basically say is that you should be more open. Just because there's no materialistic evidance to prove it, you can't say it NEVER EXCIST...!

Now here, you have done a HUGE Mistake my friend. I believe that you have a knowledge with basic engineering and physical science. And be more logical.
The "Physics" you are talking about were made a lot of time after Sigiriya built. You are talking about the physical rule called "Keshakarshanaya". The same way a tree get it's water supply. But my dear friend. Now scientist reject the idea that a rock can have a that kind of power to take a huge water amount up to the rock. Yes now you may say at that time British people also pumped water up to the castles. But my friend you are talking about bricked buildings, I am talking about plumbing a rock...So I kindly request you to give some respect to our ancient people who built those marvelous things. "Mystery" is a thing that difficult to understand. Still engineers can't give a proper explanation how they built Sigiriya. They are having difficulties to understand that. Which means, it's no more than a "mystery".

History is what we know of our past and what is verified from Materialistic evidence! And how do we verify history?
1. Physical Evidence Gathered
2. They will be tested according to scientific methods to check thier age
3. Historians will identify them as unique to thier cultures or not
4. Cross reference them to world history to actually see whether it matches or not!
example: "King Ashoka sent his son to Sri Lanka with many others to establish Buddhism"
To support this saying.. Sri Maha Bodhiya still exist, and Archaeologists finds ancient fonts and when cross referenced those fonts are matching to what they were using at that time when King Asoka was ruling.. and also considering many other evidence it is conclusive that King Asoka indeed send his son to Sri Lanka and thus it becomes a fact!!!
That's how history is made... myth is made rather easily.. as for RAMAYANA story there's no support evidence nor cross references! Its an isolated story in the history which has no connection to the history of what we know... more like GREEK MYTHOLOGY!!
As for the Da Vinci's sketches... there's difference between somebody drawing and making it a reality!! People were dreaming about flying from anciant times they even painted them at that time... but no one really made it practical!! Again there's no evidence that flying machine was invented before 1903.. that's a FACT!
So Da Vinci's drawings were only drawings.. A man with a vision.. that's it!! Chinese helicopter was only a bamboo stick which was a bit longer than a Popsicle stick.. they were toys NOT serious human carriers!!
Then how do you say it existed? Look at it this way... if it ever existed.... even though one is unable to see the actual source.... there should be consequences because of it... every action has a reaction.. either the action or reaction is everlasting!!
Bridge here refers to as "connect"..... besides NASA cannot declare its a man made Bridge or not.... NASA is a space program NOT a archaeological institution, besides as your sources claim this is 1,750,000 years ago... so you decide, at 1,750,000 years ago was Sri Lanka and India were as the same geological shape.. like it is today?
